  1. Hi

I have read some of your posts with interest and agree that HS2 is badly thought out and inappropriate. I do believe however that we need to invest in a transport infrastructure, but it has to be built for future needs and needs to be honest. I have therefore written a proposal (as a ‘thought experiment’ that shines a light on the fallibility of HS2, but also suggests an alternative approach, that I think will be more cost effective and useful for the country, as well as more environmentally friendly. I like to think it could be a credible option. Please have a look at the proposal at http://www.martmoves.org.uk – I don’t mind criticism and you may be against it – or you may think that it has some good ideas – in which case pass it on. I will be happy to receive any comments- especially those that are evidence based – but please bear in mind that it is a ‘proof of concept”, so figures I give and technical solutions are possibilities for discussion and consensus.
I think that a lot of the controversy for HS2 could literally be bypassed, as my proposal shows.

    Keep up the good work

    Thomas Chapple
